FINCH A SOLDIER’S STORY 

We never planned to write the new album Finch a soldier’s story; we’d thought we’d record some older songs. My son gave me a lovely Cordoba Concert Uke, and I immediately fell in love with its classical, old-world sound. 

On November 14, 2022, I had a melody, in 2024 Artese N Toad had a new album.  

Finch is a biographical rock musical about a real soldier, the last living US WW1 Veteran with nine different scenes. We put together songs about his journey as a young soldier, to his helping villagers in France find normalcy during dark times, love, fear, joy, and acceptance. 

Recorded in Philadelphia and London. Mixed by John Anthony, Cabin and Gradwell House Studios and Gordon Davidson, Abbey Road, and beautifully mastered by Sean Magee at Abbey Road Room 6. This album was made as a nod to the late 60’s and early 70’s story tellers like Procol Harum.  

Finch was a unique undertaking, and we thank the creative musicians who made the album complete, Amy Chalmers Liverpool (Strings), Chris White, London (Tenor Sax), Sandy Eldred, Philadelphia (String Bass), John Anthony, Philadelphia co-producer and percussion.
